Ace Translator
Ace Translator is decent translation software which has a massive list of languages, but not many features. The application itself is very basic and has a layout with only the most minimal tools such as copy, paste, cut and open.
The only factor which puts Ace as No. 7 on our list of translation software is the immense number of languages and slightly increased accuracy in translation.
Effectiveness:
The interface is relatively effective and only seemed to have small problems with the interpretation itself. It did get some words blended up, which sometimes was so severe that the whole content of the text was lost.
However, the biggest problem Ace had was with sentence structure and word order. When interpreting text from one language to another, Ace often times blended up sentence order and got some words blended up. While for the most part this is not an extremely halting problem, it does result in confusing the content and meaning of the text. To see exactly how Ace did in the testing refer to the articles ‘Test Format’ and ‘Translation Software Test Results’.
Features:
Ace doesn’t have any features to talk about and has an extremely easy interface. It has the ability to copy and paste text from any source and in nearly any language. The software also claims to work with Microsoft Outlook and email systems, but we were unable to figure out how it works with these programs, unless it is by copying and pasting.
Ease of Use:
Ace Translator is easy to use, but that is mostly because there really isn’t much you can do with it. To use the interface all you need to do is cut, paste or type text in the top window, choose the languages you want to use and the translation will appear in a window at the bottom after only a few seconds.
Available Languages:
This is where Ace really shines. There are more languages available in this software than in any of the others. It includes language in a wide range from the more common French, German and Spanish to the more uncommon languages, including Lithuanian, Catalan and Yiddish.
Supported Formats/Files:
Ace Translator doesn’t integrate with other systems like most other programs did, but it can open Microsoft Outlook for sending emails to support. Mostly, if you want to interpret text from various formats you have to copy and paste it into the interface.
Help/Support:
The help for Ace is helpful only for certain things such as contacting the manufacturer or connecting to the website. There isn’t really anything else as far as support, but the system is so easy that there isn’t much to get help with.
Summary:
Ace Translator is not as high quality as many of our top-ranked programs and does not have many features to talk of. The only thing that sets Ace above the lower ranked products is the immense amount of languages available. For a program that is accurate and has a massive arsenal of features, take a look at our top product, Power Translator.
